
Col. Dutton is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, and he went on to receive his Masters of Science from the University of Washington in Aeronautics and Astronautics.
After flying over 100 combat hours with the U.S. Air Force, Dutton was selected in May 2004 as one of 14 members of the 19th NASA astronaut class.
He is scheduled to join the the STS-131 mission, targeted for launch April 5, which will be shuttle Discovery's next-to-last flight and will deliver critical spare parts and cargo to the International Space Station.
Col. Dutton and his wife, Erin, have four sons.
