I had the gift of spending the last week of her life with my grandmother last year. She didn't want for much, but we read the Word together, I held her hand. It was a gift, seeing a woman's life slipping into eternity with Our Heavenly Father.
But my crisp memory, in childhood, was that she was always waiting. Watching and waiting for the return of Christ. Grandma taught me to watch, and to pray. She lived it.

For that, I'm thankful.
